Introduction to Private and Semi-Private Lessons

These lessons work differently from our group lessons. The main difference is that you as a skater or a parent of a skater are responsible for finding your own coach and arranging scheduling and payment with them. Please note that coaches fees are not included in the registration cost. A private program cost registration cover only cost of ice. Please visit the list of "our coaches" that we recommend. The coaches on the list regularly teach skating programs at CSLFSC and are certified by SkateCanada. The fees associated with each coach can differ based on a number of factors such as experience, level, age, etc...

It is best to select the session you would like to skate on in consultation with your chosen coach to make sure they have available time on that session.

Junior Sessions are open to any skater that has not passed a STARSkate test (CanSkate badges do not count as a STARSkate test).

Note: sessions marked as “Open Session” are open to all levels of skaters. However, CanSkaters who choose to skate on these sessions must be accompanied at all times by their coach.

Requirements for Stroking

Before enrolling your child in this program, please ask your coach or the CanSkate Program Coordinator if this program is appropriate for your child.

The stroking session consists of two groups. All skaters are evaluated during the first lesson and classified into one of the groups. If a skater doesn't have the necessary level to attend the class, they will not be admitted. In such case, CSL FSC will refund the cost of the program minus the cost of the first lesson (partial prorated refund).
