Which program should I choose?
Our club offers several skating programs for all skaters, regardless of their skill and ability and this for recreational skating, figure skating or hockey and ringette. Our skating programs were developed by Skate Canada, the national organization for the promotion of figure skating in Canada. Our skating programs are available during group or semi-private and private courses. Before you register, you must know the specifications of our programs. Pre-CanSkate/CanSkate and Advanced CanSkate Programs are offered in group lessons and private or semi-private lessons. This program is for learning to skate from the very beginner stages. Figure or hockey skating skates are accepted. Visit our Group Lessons section for more information and to see the schedule of ice sessions.
Private or semi-private Canskate lessons are available for children 3 and up, teens, and adults. You must contact a qualified coach for CanSkate or StarSkate, and select a club ice session to train or receive private lessons. "Power" Program (temporarily suspended due to COVID-19) for beginner with hockey skates only (Stage 1,2,3 & 4). This course is a prerequisite for CanPowerSkate. It is offered only in groups. It is a learn to skate course and suitable for recreational skate and future hockey and ringette skater (without hockey stick and puck).
AdvancedPower Skate Program (temporarily suspended due to COVID-19) is offered only in groups and not available during the spring season. It focuses on skills, technique, and conditioning drills for hockey and ringuette players.
STARSkate Program is designed for figure skating and is offered in private or semi-private courses only. You must contact a coach qualify for the STAR Program and select a skating club ice session to train with coach or without a coach. See the Private Lessons page for more details.
The off-ice training is essential for our skaters, whether at CanSkate level or high-level competitors. The incorporation of off-ice training based on the level of athlete will help ensure that skaters reach their own level of excellence. See the schedule for the days and times.
